| General: I graduated from the University of Washington in June with degrees in marketing and finance… and a passion for technology. My “dream job” would be one where I could combine an obsession for cutting-edge technology with a solid educational background in marketing and finance in a diverse environment where individuals are allowed to be creative and think outside the box. Consulting Services: At UW I engaged in many projects that developed my finance and marketing skills. In an advanced business class, I had the opportunity to provide consulting services for an African art importer called Buckley’s Imports. My team was responsible for creating a new marketing strategy and provide strategic financial recommendations. We conducted market research, performed data analysis, and created new marketing strategies to penetrate the target market and meet Buckley’s specific needs. Our marketing plan included market research data and analysis, a situational analysis, press releases, new logo suggestions, a redesign of their website, a financial analysis, and an implementation schedule for our recommendations with a projected ROI. Buckley’s revenues and market share increased significantly. As the team leader, I facilitated the creative process while delegating tasks to ensure that we achieved our goals on time. Business Plan Competition Finalist: In the spring of 2008 I competed in UW’s Business Plan Competition. My team’s business plan was a website based on Web 2.0 technology that merges consumers, non-profit organizations, and corporations with philanthropic charities and socially responsible projects. Our team was one of the few undergraduate teams selected from over 80 to advance to the next round of 34 teams to be evaluated by a panel of over 190 venture capitalists. My specific role was to design a strategic marketing strategy to effectively launch the site. I conducted market research to determine the specific demographic areas in which to launch and designed creative marketing tools and strategies to stimulate demand. This project taught me how to turn a creative idea into a viable business plan. My creativity and strong background in business made me a valuable asset to my team. |
